Intellectual property and privacy technology company wins investment

TIM Ventures (Telecom Italia seed investment company) has announced an investment of €150,000 in Kopjra, a start-up from Bologna specialising in technologies that help to protect intellectual property (IP) and privacy.

Kopjra’s services are tailored to the music, film, software, videogame and publishing industries. They help to identify, in real time, possible copyright, trademark, patent and privacy infringements online and on peer-to-peer networks. Search results can be analysed and monitored using automatic content recognition technologies.

Kopjra also provides services aimed at helping its clients gain back losses caused by online piracy.

IP and privacy technologies are one of the most promising trends in the digital economy market. Kopjra is already positioning itself as a potential leader in this sector. In September it will become part of the Silicon Valley ecosystem thanks to Mind the Bridge Startup School programme – one of just eight start-ups to be selected by Startup Europe out of 200.

Kopjra has also been part of EIT Digital’s Business Development Accelerator since 2014. The accelerator works with high growth and high impact innovation start-ups to accelerate business growth in Europe.
