2016 KIC call info day

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology is set to hold a workshop on its 2016 Knowledge and Innovation Communities call.

The EIT will establish new KICs in the areas of food and manufacturing next year. ‘EIT Food’ will focus on ‘ensuring a climate-resilient and sustainable global food value chain’, whilst ‘EIT Manufacturing’ aims to ‘strengthen and increase the competitiveness of Europe’s manufacturing industry.’

The event, tailored towards potential applicants and innovation stakeholders, will centre on delivering information regarding the 2016 call, including guidance on submitting proposals to the EIT, the subsequent evaluation process and the call roadmap.

Details will also be delivered regarding the mission and the strategic priorities of the EIT, as part of Horizon 2020, as well as an overview of the KIC model. In addition, there will be opportunities for networking.

The EIT has established five KICs, namely Climate-KIC, EIT Digital and KIC InnoEnergy, as well as the recently established EIT Health and EIT Raw Materials. The EIT is funded by Horizon 2020, though the KICs also receive a substantial amount of investment from other sources.

The workshop will take place in Brussels on 18 February and more information can be found here.
